Ink on paper, masking tape

The stains and grime on the adhesive beneath the creased tape reveal the essence of the moment; the texture and form of the creased tape itself capture the force and shape, reproducing the character of the place. Through both conscious and unconscious means, a convergence of the present is formed. The rapid and successive transformation of Tai Kok Tsui reflects the very nature of urbanization, like a child growing up or an elder passing away, never to return. Capture the Touch and Trace of that Moment records the landscapes and facilities that will soon disappear, merging the past, present, and future onto the page. Children, older people, and passersby can all participate in their own way, recording the places and objects they hold dear and then sharing them with others - a documentation of all that is about to be lost.
